The Chocolate Tour

April 8, 2017 By Dane McGregor Leave a Comment

Lovers of chocolate can now celebrate as New Zealand’s first chocolate subscription has been launched and can be delivered to your door each month! Filled with a carefully curated selection of artisan chocolates, this subscription would be a match made in heaven for anyone with a sweet tooth or eagerness to taste chocolate from some of New Zealand’s best chocolatiers.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of these boxes earlier this week to sample what The Chocolate Tour was all about. The idea is simple, if you like good chocolate, are open to new experiences or unsure how to source these varieties locally, then this is the subscription for you. If you’d like to sign up, subscribers can choose between monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly, all at a cost of $49 per delivery. For those who think this price may be quite steep, postage and beautiful packaging are already included. Also consider how much these chocolates generally cost individually and the piece of mind that they can all be delivered to your doorstep.

The theme of this box is titled ‘The Inner Child’ and is inspired by childhood memories with a carefully balanced artisan twist. With this said, I assume each monthly subscription may come with its own unique theme for you to enjoy. ‘The Inner Child’ box was filled with a variety of seven completely different chocolates to indulge in and I can’t wait to try each one of them.

If you’d like to check out The Chocolate Tour or even sign up for your own subscription, take a look here!

I’ve become slightly obsessed with making fresh I’ve become slightly obsessed with making fresh fruit slushies and frozen cocktail this summer. It’s been a great way to cool down and also enjoy a warm evening or two with friends. Below is a recipe for an Aperol Spritz Slushie that I’ve really been enjoying recently. Super quick and easy to make, especially since the 3X Bluicer Pro from @brevilleappliancesnz not only crushes the ice and blends everything together, I can also juice fresh oranges and lemons directly into the blending jug. Perfect for summer entertaining, let me know if you try this quick Slushie recipe.
——
Aperol Spritz Slushie
——
2 oranges
2 lemons
80ml Aperol (1/3 Cup)
125ml Prosecco (1/2 Cup)
2 Tablespoons Caster Sugar
3 cups of Ice

Method:
1. Add Aperol, Prosecco, sugar and ice cubes, into the blender jug and attach to juicer spout.
2. Turn variable speed dial to Speed 1 and juice oranges and lemons.
3. Remove juicer attachment and place blender jug onto motor base, close lid securely.
4. Select Frozen Cocktail program.
5. Pour mix into short glasses and serve topped with a slice of orange. Serves 3-4
